Hello fosters,

As I am sure most of you know, Ben has been asking people to jog their memories for any earl grey memories they may have running around in their heads.  I know not everybody went to earl grey, but I am sure you know the stories. This is because our group of friends is most nostalgic group of people I know and when ever we get together, we never seem to talk about the present or the future, just the past.

Any way, as I was jotting down some memories, I started thinking about our history of fighting; who fought, where, when, and the outcome, wins and losses.  So, I am gonna start a list here.  I will try and put it in order, but no guarantees. If there is anything missing or if there is any inaccurate detail, please feel free to add or change things.  Here we go:

1.       grade 8 – Joell and brett at withrow park.  Winner? Brett, but joell held his own and brett was one of the best fighters in riverdale.

2.       grade 8 –Ben, Tony, paul i., and garret at withrow park.  Winner? TCP, but they were 18 and we were 12 and I was the only one who got rocked because I was wearing the new pennys and because I said I hadn’t seen the latest Tyson fight. 

3.       grade 8 – Ben and Garret in withrow park against Arden and gang.  Winner? Fosters, because we were a year older and in junior high that means a lot.

4.       grade 9 – sean and garret against colin wood.  Winner? The fight never actually happened, but we would have won, because I had Sean’s fishing fillet.

5.       grade 11 – Joell, Ben, Tony, Dave N., Garret, Bryce, Chang, may be more, at the crappy keg party.  Winner?  Fosters by a long shot, but we were 8 and they were 1.

6.       grade 12 – Sean, Linton, joell, Ben, Bryce, garret, may be more, outside of that crappy tavern on bloor across from future’s bakery.  Winner?  Hard to say, the brawl broke out after I got sucker punched by a short Portuguese kid after making fun of him via freestyle.  The fight got broken up pretty fast and I got body slammed onto the pavement by the bouncer. 

7.       2^nd year university – joell, sean, chang, garret, and may be more, in
guelph outside on the street.  Winner? Fosters, but there were 5 of us and 3 of them, and we were pissed after the French bastard said I had a small penis.  Side note: sean actually through a guy into the side of a moving taxi. 

8.       1^st year real life – sean, joell, dave g., chang, bryce, may be more, at supermarket.  Winner? Not chang.  I don’t know who would’ve won if you guys went head to head, but I am glad you didn’t.

I really want to go Riverdale Park sometime soon, and when I do I plan on using a garbage bag as a toboggan. I’m not sure if I’m spelling toboggan right.

I’ve never actually owned a sled or wooden toboggan. I would always use those plastic circles with the plastic circle handles. Mine was a very bright green. I always wanted one of those Brett Hull metal deathtrap GT’s, but for whatever reason I never got one. That was probably for the best, as they look like something that would have twisted perfectly around my mangled corpse. Then there were the cardboard box sleds that I used for so many runs. Those suck. They’d fall apart after the third run, and usually slide out from under me, causing me to roll awkwardly down two thirds of the hill. I’ve only ridden on inflatable tubes once or twice, but in my opinion they’re the best way to get down any slope. I even tried using one on the sidewalk on Logan in the middle of summer, but I scraped my knees up real bad.

So this brings me to garbage bags. They works sooo well, and are easy to replace – just bring a bag of bags! Plus they look really cool. The only flaw in their design is the unbelievable pain you feel when you go over the slightest of bumps. A few years ago, Garret, Joell, Seany, Ben and I went to Riverdale and went down in garbage bags. The impact of our bodies against the hill was causing my snug touque to fly off my head. My back has never been the same.

I hope to hit the slopes with my garbage bag toboggan very soon. Either that or Joell, you’re driving me to Canadian Tire and I’m buying a tube.

Hello family,
it’s valentine’s day and I feel sick because I just ate a huge piece of counterfeit dark chocolate. There’s a lot of that around these parts. I also just finished a box of chocolate cookies called “choco thins” and the slogan on the box says “the perfect cookie for a woman”. I am serious. I read that only after purchasing them and I felt really embarrased ’cause the girl at the cashier was kinda smirking when I bought them. I guess it’s like buying 2.5 percent beer or slim cigarettes. I don’t know. Any ways, I don’t feel very good. So, I have spent most of my day chasing links on the internet and watching The Office (UK version). I know everyone has already seen it and thinks it’s great, but it was really the first time I’ve seen it. I honestly haven’t laughed that hard in a long time, may be since the “dick in a box” skit. You couldn’t really design a worst character for a boss. He plays that role so well, I wonder what he’s like in real life. And Gareth, his shitty assistant/sidekick. It must have cost almost nothing to produce that show. I know it won all kinds of awards. Do you guys know about the website www.alluc.com? It’s saving my life out here.

I read a couple of reviews on Rodrigo’s new book. Has anyone read it yet? I am gonna try and buy it on-line and get it sent out here. I heard some of you went to the book launch. How was that? Did any of you guys celebrate the late great Jay Dee’s 1 year anniversay?
